Her journey starts by befriending and getting on the good side of Aaron Sinclair, a fire mage, by being brave enough to stand up to him. She stumbled into the supernatural world or mythic world, as author Annette Marie uses, while searching and finding a job that would accept and suit her temper ways as a bartender at The Crow and Hammer. I did feel sorry for her though, when she got fired because it was not her fault but sometimes at work, even when you in the right, customers tempers rule over your own, especially when you act on your anger like Tori did.

She lives with her policeman of a brother, Justin. She is a strong willed character with anger issues that cause her a lot of trouble, including getting fired quite often. This first book in the guild codex spellbound series introduces Tori (Victoria Dawson) as the main character, as she looks for a job.
